Pianist Alexandre Marr
Time & Location
About the Event
Pianist Alexandre Marr presents an evening of sonatas in the sanctuary of Church of the Western Reserve.
The first half of the program will open with Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 24 in F# Major, Op. 78 and conclude with Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 5, No.2 in G minor for piano and cello, featuring cellist Alexander Numpaque, in celebration of the composer’s 250th birthday year.
On the second half of the program, Alexandre Marr plays Liszt’s Piano Sonata in B minor. Arguably Liszt’s great achievement in composition for solo piano, the “Grand Sonata” is famed for its innovation in form, unforgettable themes, and the technical virtuosity and endurance demanded of the performer.
This concert will be presented in an online format, streamed live to the CWR Facebook Page on August 28th at 7pm. Online donations will be accepted at www.cwr.church and shared with the church and artist. Thank you in advance for your generous support of the CWR Concert Series as we continue to bring world class music to Cleveland.
