God bless everyone on this glorious day! Be blessed by today’s message.

With love, Rev. Dr. Sandy Seaton-Todd

Bible Verse Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Bible Story Romans 8:26-27 Help from the Spirit

The Spirit helps us in our weakness. Sometimes we don't even know how to pray. But the Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And the Spirit intercedes in accordance with the will of God.

There is not a right or wrong way to pray. There are right and wrong intentions. A wrong intention is the desire to serve ourselves without regard to how it impacts others. A right intention is the desire to tune our hearts and minds to the Spirit. When we open ourselves to the Spirit, our whole lives become a prayer, with or without words.

Apples and Oranges We do not need to view people and situations through the lens of oppositional, either/or thinking. People come in all shapes, sizes, and skin colors. We can embrace the both/and nature of things. We can enjoy and appreciate the uniqueness of apples and oranges.

A Way to Make a Difference Under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved. A smile is an inexpensive way to lift people's spirits and connect. Everyone deserves to be greeted with a smile.

White Privilege Life is hard for everyone. I have the benefit that my skin tone is not one of the things that makes my life hard.

Prayer Lord, help us and our world, and lead us in justice and righteousness. Amen.
