Good Sunday morning everyone! Enjoy this beautiful summer day on our north coast or wherever you are.
God bless you, Rev. Dr. Sandy Seaton-Todd
2 Corinthians 4:16 Do not lose heart.
James 5:13-16 Are any among you suffering? Pray. Are any of you cheerful? Sing songs of praise. Are any among you sick? Have people pray over you in the name of the Lord. Confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so you may be healed. Prayers in faith are powerful and effective.
Never underestimate the power of prayer, praise, and confession! The power is multiplied when two or three pray together. Do you pray with your spouse? Your kids? Your friends? Do you take it to God whenever you have a problem or are struggling with something or someone? It may be awkward at first to suggest praying aloud, but prayer is not just for mealtime. Try spending a minute or two or five praying aloud with someone. It changes everything. Ask God for help. Be specific in what you need, what you want, what you hope for. Talk to God and watch the power of God come to bear upon your struggles. We laugh about the old-fashioned television evangelists putting their hand out and saying, "Be healed in the name of Jesus!" But it is true that there is power in prayer with faith! Try it!
