Daily Devotion

Hello Church!

You know why I love rain so much? Because it makes everything so green! And my grass stays green without me having to use up or pay for water!! What a beautiful world it is outside our windows. God is good! All the time! Be blessed and inspired by today’s Bible verse and story.

With love, Rev. Dr. Sandy Seaton-Todd

Bible Verse I Peter 5:10 The God of all grace will restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.

Bible Story Isaiah 43:18-21 Holding on to Hope Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new things: now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. I will give water in the desert and wilderness, and living creatures will be full of praise!

Life can be really hard when we find ourselves in a metaphorical desert or wilderness. It is easy to lose hope. But the one thing people cannot live without (in addition to water, and at some point food) is hope. And God gives us hope by assuring us that even when we are in the deserts and wildernesses of our lives, God will make a way forward, creating new and good things for us. Remember this promise from God when something in your life is parched or dry or you feel lost, when you are in a desert or wilderness in a relationship, or your finances, or career, or fear about the future. God is about to do a new thing!
